84, died in Providence, RI. Born in El Salvador on June 18, 1931. Through her hard work and life endeavors, she raised her six children and provided them the opportunities of a stable lifestyle and education, paving the way to success for her children and grandchildren. Mercedes, enjoyed traveling, knitting, cooking, and watching novelas. She was also a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. She is survived by her six children: Mauricio Vigil, Yony Vigil, Juan Vigil, Marta A. Vigil, Jose L. Vigil and Eduardo Vigil. Also surviving are nine granddaughters, ten grandsons, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delphin Torres, and mother, Herminia Ruiz.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10 am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 791 Potters Ave., Providence, RI at 11 am. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning, December 26, 2015 from 8:30 am to 10 am.
