She had been employed by "Angelica" for many years before retiring. She is survived by eleven children, Manuel Barros Silva, Renato Vieira, Lucindo Mendes, Djedje Mendes, Tony Mendes, Nene Mendes, Carlos Mendes, Joao Mendes, Lucinda Mendes-Centeio, Dina Mendes-Tavares, and Dino Mendes, 50 grandchildren and 61 great grandchildren, three brothers Belmiro Barros, Alfred Barros and Sebastiao Barros, and a sister Jaquina.. She was the sister of the late Totony, Tudinha and Lele
