45, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of James T. Broadmeadow for 20 years. Born in Providence, RI, a daughter of Deacon Paul and the late Marie-Berth Tanguay, she was a resident of Pawtucket, Providence, and Seekonk, MA. Besides her husband and father, she is survived by her two loving children, Matthew and Erin Broadmeadow; four sisters, Michelle Tetreault, Lisa Emery, Renee Doran, and Marcelle Lanctot; three brothers, Paul, Raymond, and Guy Tanguay; and a large extended family.
After graduating from Shea High School, Nicole attended the University of Rhode Island, Bryant University and Rhode Island College where she received a B.A. in Secondary Education. Nicole was a math teacher and coach in the Providence School Department for more than 22 years. She loved her time as a teacher in Providence, relating to the students both on an educational and a personal level.
The youngest of eight children, Nicole was a born competitor, putting her heart into everything she did or attempted. This included competing in gymnastics from a young age to her time at RIC, amazing her students by back-flipping down the school corridors, flipping off the diving board at family functions, playing cards with friends and family, and being the best mother she could be. This was never more evident than in the courageous way she dealt with breast cancer, serving as an inspiration to her family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend Services at 10 AM at the Seekonk Congregational Church, 600 Fall River Ave, Seekonk, MA on Friday, January 22nd. Burial will be private at Swan Point Cemetery immediately following the service. Calling Hours will be held Thursday, January 21st from 3-7 PM at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge online at www.rundfmc.org/2016/kevinw where Nicole's cousin, Kevin White, will be running the Boston Marathon in her memory. Alternatively, donations can also be made to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence RI 02904.
