85, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores (Banna) Fitzgerald.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Harry A. & Beatrice L. (Plante) Fitzgerald.
Mr. Fitzgerald served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He then worked at Harvest / Tip Top Bakeries and later retired from the Central Falls School Dept.
He was a member of the VFW Post #1271 and the Garfield Social Club.
He is survived by his three sons, Gary (Chris) Fitzgerald of Carmichael, CA, Alan (Catherine) Fitzgerald and Scott (LouAnn Valletta) Fitzgerald, both of Pawtucket. He was "Pop-Pop" to his three grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Thomsen, Ryan (Richelle) Fitzgerald and Kyle Fitzgerald, and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Joan Fitzgerald of North Providence. He was also the brother of the late Harry E. Fitzgerald.
A funeral service will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, R.I. on Tuesday, January 26th at 10 A.M. Burial with Military Honors will take place in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 P.M.
Please omit flowers. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to a Veterans organization of your choice.
