Born in Praia, Cape Verde, he was a son of the late Armando and Joana "Anita" (Rocha) Alves. He had been employed by Monet Jewelry for 23 years then eleven years at Tiffany Company. He was an avid Benfica Soccer fan. He is also survived by four children, Moises, Nelson, Debbie and Alexander Alves and 6 grandchildren.
Funeral Friday, Feb 19th at 8:30 am in Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Providence, at 10 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Prov. Visitation Thursday 5 to 8 pm.
