83, of Tiffany St, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a two year battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Desautel) Pietraszka.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Adam and Mary Pietraszka.
Stanley was an entrepreneur and inventor, a Jack of all trades," Pa can fix anything". He loved camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren.
He was instrumental in the fundraising for IRIS camera and received a commendation from the Central Falls Fire Department.
He is survived by his four children, Carol Cooney of Central Falls, Joseph Pietraszka and his wife Penny (Lees) of Burriville, Joanne Dodd and her husband Terrence of North Smithfield and Susan Robbins of Pawtucket, eleven grandchildren, Stephen, Keri-Ann, Kristina, Cassandra and Courtney Cooney; Sarah, Amanda, Emily and Adam Dodd, Jessica and Nathan Robbins and two great grandchildren, Evelyn Quinones and Jacob Turchetta. He is also survived by a brother, Julian Pietraszka, a sister, Angie Smith and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Stella Golas, Victoria Nero, Walter Peters and Bronislaw Petrasky.
By his request calling hours are respectfully omitted. A celebration of his life will be held February 7th, 2010 at noon in the American Legion Post, 695 Broad St, Cumberland.
