48, of Cumberland passed away peacefully Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Mount St. Rita Health Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pawtucket, RI, son of the late Gerald and Ida (Sylvester) Menard. Paul proudly worked at the Arc of Northern RI and Seven Hills for twenty-five years. He was most happy when dancing and watching "Maria" aka The Sound of Music, while sipping on a Coke. He leaves six siblings, Ronald Menard of Portland, ME, Normand Menard of Cumberland, RI, Lucille Gustafson of Warwick, RI. Gerard Menard of Pawtucket, RI, Pierre M. Menard of Bradenton, FL and Richard Menard of Cumberland, RI, and several nieces and nephews. Paul enjoyed many happy years living with the Connors family of Burrillville, RI. He had also been a resident at Seven Hills Group Home in northern RI. Paul loved his many friends and caring and loyal staff members.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 8:00 AM from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in St. Jude's Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln, RI, followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Paul's memory/honor to Mount St. Rita Health Center, 15 Sumner Brown Rd. Cumberland, RI 02864.
