94, passed on March 20th with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Adelia (Braz) Rocha.
Born in Santo Antao, he was a son of the late Ernesto and Candida (Jesus) Rocha.
He is survived by eight children, Filomena Lopes (Eusebio), Candida Baptista (Mateus), Adriana Santos (John), Maria Timas (Caetano), Ernesto Rocha (Linda), Joana Pina (Domingos), Augusto Rocha . (Fatima), and Vitalino Rocha (Ladd), his last surviving sibling, Adriana Soares, 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was one of ten children. Antao was the father of the late Serafina Rocha and grandfather of the late Tammy and Akeem Rocha.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, March 23rd at 10 am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of Holy Name of Jesus, 99 Camp St., Providence at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7 to 10 pm.
