82, passed away on May 17th, he was born on August 7th, 1933 in East Providence. He was the husband of Nancy (McDermott) Costa. He was the son of the late John Costa and the late Josephine Sorrentine Costa. He had four siblings, Norman Costa and his wife Rosalie, Leonard Costa, the late Marjorie Costa Delmonico and the late Frank Costa. He resided most of his life in Pawtucket. He served in the military (Air Force) during the Korean War and was based in Germany. During this time he took photos and worked in the photo developing department. Richard met his wife Nancy and fell in love the moment he saw her. He always said she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. They would have celebrated their 45th anniversary this July. He loved to paint cars and took great pride in doing so. He started his painting career at Standard Auto Body and Al-Joe's Auto Body in Pawtucket. Dickie enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, tennis, and the Wheel of Fortune. He also loved taking rides to Oakland Beach for Iggy's Doughboys. Richard was liked by so many people and always had a story to tell. He could sit and talk to you for hours if you would let him. He was known as a joker and loved to make people laugh. He had a big heart and a strong will. Richard loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he absolutely adored. Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Roxanne (Costa) Tremblay and her husband Wayne, Lori Costa, Norman Costa and his wife Debra, all of Pawtucket. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Brittney, Ashley, Kyle, Marvens, Cierra, Mariah, John and Rionda, plus five great- grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 20th at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 103 Pine St., Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 19th from 5 - 8 p.m. in Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln.
