He was the husband of Joana M. (Fortes) Monteiro.
Born in Santo Antao, Cape Verde, a son of Maria P. Medina and the late Pedro Fonseca Monteiro.
He is survived by three sons, Renato, Jailson and Americo Monteiro; four grandchildren, Malik, Parisa, Niziyah and Kylie; two brothers, Pedro and Jose Monteiro; two sisters, Arminda and Sulemita Monteiro and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edgar Monteiro.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave., Pawtucket, at 10am. Burial will be graveside in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8pm.
