She was the wife of the late Joao P. Gamboa and the mother of the late Clarisse DaCruz.
Born in Santo Antao, Cape Verde and raised in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Joao Monteiro and Delfina DaCruz.
She is survived by two children, Joaquim DaCruz and his wife Jovina of Pawtucket, RI and Maria Gamboa and her husband Francisco of Central Falls, RI; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a great granddaughter. "Nha Sabina", as many people from the Cape Verde Islands knew her as, also left behind countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 20th at 9am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8pm.
