82, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 27th. He was the husband of Barbara (Hamod) McDermott. They have been married for 62 years. Born in Warren, the son of the late Alfred and Louise (Amedee) McDermott. Richard was a Navy Korean War Veteran. He resided most of his life in Central Falls and Bristol.
He was the proprietor of Mickeys Valley View Pub, Cumberland for the past 40 years.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son Rick McDermott, a daughter, Nancy McDermott Larose and her husband Dennis, two grandsons, Rick McDermott Jr. and Matt McDermott, a great granddaughter, Violet McDermott. He was the brother of the late Robert McDermott.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 4th from 1 to 3pm followed by a service at 3pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private. Flowers are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Nursing Placement, 334 East Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
