64, of Providence, R.I., departed life on Friday December 23, 2016. Born in San Fernand, Trinidad, he was the son of the late John Ashby and the late Madgeline (Franks) Ashby Coleman. He grew up in Kingston, Jamaica before settling in Rhode Island in 1970.
Peter worked as a machine operator at Microfibers for 43 years until he retired in 2014. He was also a disc jockey at SNUBS for 25 years.
Peter leaves behind three children, Peter Ashby, Kima (Lawson) Brown and Paul Lawson. Preceding Peter in death was his son, Peter Lawson and his brother, Earl Ashby.
In addition to leaving behind three children, Peter also leaves many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends that he loved and enjoyed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday, December 31st at 10 A.M. at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, R.I. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground, Providence, R.I. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 30th from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln, R.I.
