78, passed at home on December 29th with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Ana (Goncalves) Cardoso. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Antonio Gomes and Maria Cardoso. He had been employed by New England Paper many years. Besides his wife he is survived by seven children, John Goncalves, Antonio Cardoso,Teofilo Cardoso, Junior Cardoso, Oliviero Cardoso, Manuel Cardoso Jr., and Manuel Cardoso Jr. his siblings Antonio Gomes, Boaventura Cardoso, Antonio Gomes, Fernando Gomes, Antonio Gomes, John Fortes, Joe Fortes, Antonio Fortes, Adelino Gomes, Charlene Fortes, Candida Gomes, Clarinda Gomes, Laura DaGraca, Dominga Gomes, Eugenia Azevedo,15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave Lincoln with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary Church, Pine St, Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will be in Mt St Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7pm.
