91, of East Providence, formerly of Providence, passed away at Linn Health Care Center on Saturday, December 31, 2016.

Norman and his twin brother Vernon were born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 17, 1925. Mr. Miller was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a civil engineer and worked in all but a few states in this country. Mr. Miller was a resident of Providence for more than 50 years and was well-known on the East Side.

Norman was a devoted member of Mount Hope Community Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. He was known for his love for God and promoting spiritual growth within the church.

He is survived by his twin brother, Vernon Miller of Maine whom he spoke with on a daily basis. He was the son of the late Harry John Miller and Pauline (Hein) Miller. He was loved and cared for by his church family and is survived by: Susan Rezendes (who was his dear friend and healthcare power of attorney for over 10 years), his "step-son" Dennis Cullinane of East Providence, Clifford and Marilyn Brown, Jr., and Carline Voltaire.

A special thank you to Mr. Tom Keefe of Keefe Funeral Home, Arbor Hill Assisted Living and Linn Health Care Center for the extra care and compassion that was extended to Mr. Miller.

All are invited to come and share memories and pay tribute to this truly great man on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Mount Hope Community Baptist Church, 734 Hope Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02906.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. at Mount Hope Community Baptist Church, with burial at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors in Exeter, Rhode Island.
