73, was born August 31, 1943 in Williamsburg County, South Carolina to the late Lillie Mae McClary Scott and Willie Ezell Scott. She peacefully entered into eternal rest and rejoined the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017.
Gertrude was the wife of the late Charles McDonald Sr. and mother of the late Leevern McDonald. Those left to perpetuate her love are two daughters - Ms. Tammy McDonald and Ike McDonald of Providence, Rhode Island and one son Mr. Charles McDonald Jr. of Providence, Rhode Island.
Besides her precious children, Gertrude leaves to cherish her memory forever, seven grandchildren; T. Jackson McDonald, Shannon McDonald, Brianna McDonald, Dennis McDonald, Jose DaGraca, Tatyana Lee of Providence, Rhode Island and Destria Jackson of Texas.
Gertrude was the youngest sister to 12 siblings. Left to keep her memory alive are; her elder brother Rev. Melvin Scott of Charleston, South Carolina, her elder sister Mrs. Bertha Lee Hall of Whaleyville, Virginia and her younger brother Eddie Green of Williamsburg County, South Carolina. She has joined her seven sisters; Mrs. Mary Green, Mrs. Lola Mae Parson, Mrs. Hattie Hall, Mrs. Betty Nesmith, Mrs. Lillie Mae Johnson, Mrs. Lettie Ruth Nesmith and Mrs. Mary Magdalene Purvis and her two brothers; Mr. Jerry Scott and Mr. Johnathan Scott.
Gertrude' will be loved and missed by her many nephews and nieces who often refer to her as their "favorite auntie," a host family, friends and the members of Holy Zion UHCA.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at 1 P.M. at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. Calling hours will be from noon until 1 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial is private.
