72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was the husband of the late Angelina (Foster) Sweeney. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Albert T. Sr. and Edith M. (Noones) Sweeney.
He leaves three devoted children, Pamela E. Gagnier, Albert T. Sweeney, both of Pawtucket, and Brian E. Sweeney of Florida; three wonderful grandchildren who were the light of his life, Caleb M. Gagnier and Cassie E. Gagnier, both of Lincoln, and Brendan P. Sweeney of Florida; two siblings, his beloved sisters Shirley A. Sweeney and Sis M. Verrier, both of Pawtucket, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Melissa E. Sweeney, four sisters, Evelyn C. Atwood, Edith F. Fuller, Marion A. Hamanne and Marietta M. Dwyer; three brothers, Albert T. Sweeney Jr., Ronald J. Sweeney and Russell J. Sweeney.
Fred worked for the City of Pawtucket until his retirement. He was a proud life member of the Jacques Cartier #4 Club and also a member of the Elwood Euart Post. He enjoyed the many good times with good friends he made over the years and was also an avid fisherman. Fred was known to have a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, May 4th from 3 - 6 P.M. at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, with a reception to follow at the American Legion Post 14 in Cumberland.
