Born in Portugal, a son of the late Joao Laires and Ilda (Bapista) Laires of Cumberland
He is survived by six brothers,Tony, John, Jorge, Victor, Luis and Carlos Laires, Five sisters, Madeline Gonzales, Ceu Santos, Alice Fonseca, Grace Esmeral, Paula Marshall, Anabela Melandez and many nieces, nephews , aunts and uncles. A celebration of his life was held privately Tuesday at the Keefe Funeral Home. Burial was in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
