54, of Central Falls RI, formerly of Boston, Massachusetts passed at home on July 10th surrounded by loved ones after an illness. Michael was the son of the late John and Louise (Lamont) Kowal. Mr. Kowal who was born and raised in Central Falls was a contractor in Boston for many years and was the prior owner of GMC Towing. He was also an avid N.E. Patriots football fan. Besides his mother, he leaves a wife, Joanne Kowal of Pawtucket and his companion of 25 years, Cara Connolly with whom he resided, two daughters, April Kowal of Pawtucket and Michelle Boyce of Woonsocket, four grandchildren, Jamiel and David Rodriguez of Pawtucket and Damien and Jorel Boyce of Woonsocket, two brothers, John Kowal of Warwick and Raymond Kowal of North Providence, three sisters, Caroline Fairhurst of Johnston, Mary Bourgault and Laura Pepin, both of Central Falls, a goddaughter, Julia Pepin, four stepchildren, MaryAnn Gauwain, George Chicoine, Patti-Jo Chicoine and Clifford Lapan and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Saturday, July 15th from 6 to 8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
