78, passed on August 3rd surrounded by his loving family after a brief bout with cancer. He was the husband of Arlene (Harrison) Kennedy. They would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this Sunday.
Born in Pawtucket where he was a lifelong resident, a son of the late Thomas and Irene (Bouchard) Kennedy.
After graduating Tolman High School in 1957, he served two years in the US Navy and then worked 36 years at Osram Sylvania. Jack spent 50 years umpiring, his lifelong passion.
Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, John R. Kennedy Jr., David Kennedy and his wife Collen, Michael Kennedy and his wife Christine, and Christopher Kennedy and his wife
Melissa, a brother, Thomas Kennedy Jr. a sister Catherine Shephard and eleven grandchildren, Tyler, Sean, Alexis, Matthew, Daniel, Hannah, Haley, Connor, Tristan, Michael and Paige and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 8th at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, 103 Pine St. Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will be in Mt St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to St. Mary Church, 103 Pine St, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
