56, passed on August 4th. Born in San Miguel, Portugal, he was a son of the late Manuel L. and Maria (Silva) Carreiro. He came to the United States in 1970 residing in Central Falls. He was a 1979 graduate of Central Falls High school. Edward had worked at the former Holiday Cinema and by Grinnel Manufacturing of Cranston. Edward had a passion for all forms and types of art. His artistic ability was one that many people admired and appreciated. He also enjoyed being with his family celebrating the holidays. His favorite was Christmas, at which he decorated to the fullest. He was involved in an automobile accident 26 years ago and has since resided in several area nursing facilities and has received excellent care at Harris Health Care North since 2007. He is survived by a sister, Lucia Lopes and her husband Mariano, a brother, Joseph M. Carreiro and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Carreiro.
A funeral service will be held Monday, August 7th at 10am in the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Please arrive by 9:45am. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 6pm.
