was born March 23, 2014 in Providence RI, with a severe brain malformation, and who gained the name of "miracle baby" around the globe, passed away peacefully in the arms of her parents and surrounded by her family on December 16, 2017.
Doctors told her parents Rony Morales and Sonia Morales Aldana, not to expect Angela to leave the hospital as she was going to die minutes or hours after birth. Angela didn't just survive her diagnosis; she thrived and lived a good, love-filled life! Every day, from pre-birth through her final day on earth, she lived with purpose and intent to make the best of each day. Angela has been a beacon of hope for the hopeless. She has given faith to people who had no faith. She has opened hearts and changed perceptions, raised awareness for anencephaly and to the sanctity of life and gave a voice to the most vulnerable, the unborn, the sick and disabled and to all the babies deemed incompatible with life. She was compatible with life and compatible with love. Angela faced many challenges but she had such a fierce and determined spirit; she was so strong and brave. She defied the odds set against her and showed us that people living with disabilities and life-limiting conditions can still live a life full of love and with dignity, despite the hardships they face. She was a living testimony that ALL lives are sacred from conception to natural death. Angela grew, gained weight and received all the routine pediatric care. Over time it became more evident she had limited body nerve and muscle skills and her verbal language did not develop beyond making sounds often when her sister Elizabeth would sing to her and she would join in the singing with her vocal sounds. Although she did not have verbal language her face spoke volumes. Her eyes and her facial expressions, especially her smiles, told anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with her showed joy, pleasure, awe of something new especially by touch in her hands.
Angela taught her family, friends, medical team, community and the world lessons on how to live a life full of love and appreciation. She taught through unspoken words, in a way more powerful than any book ever could. Angela could say so much, without ever uttering one word. She could communicate with her beautiful brown bright eyes and her indomitable joyful spirit and her radiant smile. Angela attended pre-school at Asa Messer School in Providence. Her favorite school activities were participating in morning group and spending time with her school community. She especially loved being with her friends and making new friends. An avid learner, Angela used assertive technology to help her learn with more independence. She was immersed in every aspect of learning with her peers from all different levels of school. Angela was greatly loved by her teachers and classmates. She was the "Student of the Month" for September. Angela's legacy will live on, she will continue to teach and guide us for she has left a hand print on our heart. Angela touched so many lives - she truly was an Angel on Earth. Her life was a brief gift to us that will live on, as her heart valves and corneas were donated and received by those who desperately were in need. Angela brought a bright light into our lives and although she is gone from this world, her spirit will continue to shine, bringing hope and light into the lives of the future generations. Elizabeth, her big sister will continue to tell Angela's story. Angela will live on through Elizabeth. That is a small part of Angela's legacy. In summary, Angela taught us how to love unconditionally and to live fully each and every day until is time to leave this world, hoping and praying that we can all join her in that wonderful heavenly reunion, where Angela, freed from all her earthly infirmities, will shine forth magnificently in full bloom... forever. Let us long for that day. Angela is survived by her parents, Rony Morales, Sonia Morales Aldana, sister Karen Elizabeth Morales Aldana, baby brother Alejandro Morales, grandparents aunts,uncles, and numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 27th at 10am in St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence, RI 02908. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, 72 Church St, Cranston, RI. 02920. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 26th in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln from 4 to 8pm.
