92, daughter of the late Manuel Monteiro and Agnes (De Grace) Monteiro; wife of the late Robert W. Doran. She leaves behind her sister, Zulmira Robinson, her 9 children, Manuel Doran and his wife Cynthia, Anthony Doran and his wife Jan, Andrea Ewing and her husband Jim, Maria Doran, Roberta Doran, Christina Daily and her husband Brian, Michael Doran and his wife Laurie, Ramona Lewis, and April Doran, and daughter-in-law, Joya. She is also predeceased by her late son Robert W, Doran Jr. Her grandchildren in RI are numerous, which include, Luis Collazo, Brian Daily Jr, Brendan Daily, Bryce Daily, Kendra Daily, Antoine Lewis, Marcus Lewis, Michaela Lewis, Gary Doran, Cheyenne Doran and several more. Dolores also has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren residing in Buffalo NY, Virginia, and Georgia. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
After being a homemaker and raising 10 children with her loving husband for over 50 years, she decided that she wanted to go back to work, she worked tirelessly at Providence Metalizer for several years before retiring.
Dolores was a loving, kind caring individual who would give you her last dollar or the shirt off her back or both. She loved to laugh, joke around and sing, one of her favorite songs she used to love to sing when we were children and during our adult years was, "You are my Sunshine, my only Sunshine" that song will live in our hearts forever.
Her favorite hobby was to sew, there was noting that she would not sew by hand if you needed her to fix something and she would do it in no time, she was able to thread a needle by hand up until recent years. My mother was a fun loving person with an overwhelming personality, and sense of humor, she was full of joy, love and laughter and to those who knew her, know that she was truly an Angel. She was always there for everyone to offer emotional and Spiritual support when you were down and out, she knew how to soothe your pain away with her loving hugs, soothing voice and comforting words. Her love for her children was so deep and her favorite saying to her children was "I love you all equally, not one of you are my favorite child".
Up until her final days, she professed her love for her one and only love. There was not a day in the past 18 years since her beloved husband passed, that she did not mention him or profess her undying love for him. They are now both resting together in eternal life.
Her Spirit will live inside our hearts forever, and we are comforted by knowing that she has a permanent place in the Lords home. We look forward to that day that we will see you again in the Kingdom of Heaven. Rest in Peace Mother.
Her funeral will be on Monday, March 5th at 8:30am from Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave., Pawtucket. Burial will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 - 4pm. Relatives and friends are invited.
