87, formerly of Arlington Drive, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, died peacefully on August 16th after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Houle) Tague. He was the son of the late Raymond and Gabriel (Demaris) Tague and bother of the late Raymond Tague Jr. A 1948 graduate of Saint Raphael Academy, he attended Rhode Island College and served as a Sargent in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War, stationed in South Korea. He was actively involved with Rhode Island State politics. He served as the Clerk of the House Judiciary committee and then worked for the Judicial System and headed up the State of Rhode Island Judicial Arbitration program until his retirement.
He was actively involved in the Central Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and served as the past treasurer and commander. He achieved the award of all American Post Commander in 1967-68. He also loved golfing and organizing family events.
He is survived by his loving children, Austin Tague Jr., of Roswell Georgia, Kathleen Booth and her husband Frank, of Venice Florida, Christine Tague and partner David, of So Attleboro, Thomas Tague and wife Debra, of South Carolina, Stephen Tague of East Providence, Patricia Brothers and husband Tim, of Cumberland, Gary Tague and wife Maureen, of Venice Florida, Sandra Tague, of Lincoln, Debra Burgoyne and husband Keith, of Pawtucket and Robert Houle and partner Maryanne, of Silver Springs, Maryland. He was the devoted grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren which he adored.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 24th 2018 at 10am in St. Jude Church, Front St, Lincoln. Burial will be private in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
