90, a lifelong resident of Central Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 16th, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late Georges Henri and Marguerite (Rivard) Frigon. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman R. Bergeron for sixty years, the loving mother of eleven children, proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Celine Bergeron (Jim Morris), Roberta Landry (Dave Landry), John (Joanne), David (Lydia), Claude (Geralyn), Denise (Tim Tiemissen), Paul (Theresa), Anne (Greg Martin), Norman (Susan), Daniel (Cheleasa), and Philip Joel. She is also survived by a brother, Richard L. Frigon of Coventry, RI and a sister, Sister Celine Frigon, OSU of Trois Rivieres, Canada. She was the sister of the late George, James, John, and Paul Frigon.
Born and raised in Central Falls, RI, Therese was a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing in Providence, RI in 1950, and, after having eleven children and working part and full time as an RN at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI, Therese decided to continue her education and enrolled at Rhode Island College to secure her BSN degree in Nursing. Working full time 3-11 PM nights at Memorial Hospital and attending Rhode Island College full time days (while continuing to raise and nurture her eleven children), Therese received her BSN from RIC in 1984. Her career at Memorial Hospital began as a floor nurse, and with her continuing education and uncompromising commitment to her beloved nursing career, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing where she eventually retired in 1992 to enjoy the next stage of her life committed to her beloved husband, Norman, and their retirement activities together.
Therese and Norman enjoyed sailing, camping (spending summers at Mountain Trails Campground in Rochester, VT), music, art, literature, traveling (domestically and abroad), and spending time with their ever-growing family. The legacy and great contribution to the cosmos that Therese leaves behind is the great power of love and commitment to oneself and her ideals, her family, others, and to God. A truly remarkable woman.
Her funeral will be on Friday, October 19th at 9:30am at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St., Central Falls.
