Jose P. Duarte, 103, passed on October 17th. He was the husband of Matilde (Fortes) Duarte. They have been married for 72 years. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, a son of the late Manuel Duarte and Maria da Lomba Pereira. He is survived by eight children, Joao, Llidio, Daniel, Orlando, Ana, Pedro and Adelino Duarte and has forty grandchildren, eighty one great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. He was the father of the late Manuel Duarte.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 21st from 4PM until 7PM in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. His funeral will be held Monday at 8:30am with a funeral service at 10am in the Covenant Congregational Church, 143 Glenwood Ave, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are cordially invited.
