John J. Duarte, 68, passed on January 19, 2019. Husband of Maria Adelaide (Rodrigues) Duarte, married for 36 years. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, John was son of Matilde (Fortes) Duarte and the late Jose P. Duarte. John had been employed by Hasbro Manufacturing for almost thirty years before retiring. He was also a member of the Sport Clube Lusitania. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by son, John J. Duarte Jr., and his wife Jocelyn, daughters, Elizabeth Rodrigues, Melanie Duarte and Linda Duarte, three grandchildren, Unique Rodrigues, Darius Silva and Ezekiel Duarte, siblings, ILidio, Daniel, Orlando, Ana, Pedro, Adelino Duarte and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Manuel Duarte.

Funeral will be held Saturday, January 26th, 8:30am at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Funeral Service 10am at Covenant Congregational Church, 143 Glenwood Ave, Pawtucket. Burial will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. Visitation Friday, 5-8pm.
