Lola A. Moran (Gregoire), 77, of 30 Washington St and formerly of Shawmut Ave, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 5th at the RI Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Moran Jr. They had been married for more than 48 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph George Gregoire and the late Lola E. Gregoire(Lescault). She lived most of her life in Central Falls.
She is survived by five sons: Colonel Joseph P. Moran III (retired) of the Central Falls Police Department and his wife Ann Marie of Central Falls, Gregg M. Moran and his wife Susan of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, Bruce Allan Moran and his wife Kristen of Barrington, Michael T. Moran and his wife Carla of Newport Beach California,Chris W. Moran of North Providence. She is also survived by three daughters: Barbara A. Smith of South Carolina, Colleen M. Lancellotta and her husband John of West Warwick and Linda L. Amado and her husband Barry of Barrington. She is further survived by 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Gloria Yahn and June Benton, and the late George Gregoire. She was the grandmother of the late Joseph P. Moran IV and the great-grandmother of the late Jonathan Perez.
She was a woman of great strength and dignity. She was an inspiration to all. Her last moments were filled with strength and peace. She was a woman who made everyone feel like they were special. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She loved to play Bingo. She had a free-spirit and her laughter filled our lives with joy. She was a true matriarch of the Moran family.
Calling hours will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, R.I. on Friday, March 8th between the hours of 4-8, with a memorial service at 7p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be private at a later date.
