Amelia Duarte Tavares, 75, passed on April 5th. She was the longtime companion of Boaventura DaSilva. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Maria Miguel Goncalves and Casimiro Barros. Amelia loved to watch wrestling, listen to Cape Verdean music, dance and cook.
She is survived by her children, Antonio Duarte Tavares, Michelle Duarte Tavares, Cesar Lopes, Francisco Lopes, Casimiro Lopes, Esmeraldo Duarte, Robert Lopes, brothers, Cesar Duarte and Amencio Goncalves, a sister, Candida Goncalves, and twenty-three grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Elizabeth Orellana and sister of the late Francisco Goncalves.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, April 13th at 8:00am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave, Pawtucket at 9:30am. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visitation on Friday from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.
