David R. Masterson, 62, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 surrounded by family and friends at the home of long-time partner and caretaker, Amy Berghman.
David was the son of Roland Masterson and the late Theresa Masterson of Central Falls. He is survived by his two brothers, Richard and wife Marie of North Providence and Michael of Cumberland. He was the brother of the late Diane Masterson of Cambridge, Ohio. He was also survived by his beloved dog “Bogeyâ€. David was also uncle to many nieces and nephews.
David was a 1975 graduate of St. Raphael’s Academy where he experienced an outstanding baseball career. He also attended the University of Rhode Island majoring in Horticulture.
He was employed early in his career at Mt. St. Charles Academy as Groundskeeper and Assistant basketball coach for many years. During his tenure as Assistant Coach of the boys basketball team they were Division Champions.
David also enjoyed an exceptional career in the golfing industry employed initially at Wannamoisett Country Club, then moving on to Franklin Country Club, and for the last 23 years at Ledgemont Country Club. He was promoted to Superintendent for the last four years. David wishes all the members and crew at Ledgemont Country Club sincere thanks for all their kindness bestowed upon him while employed and after his retirement. Special thanks to Bill Sherman who was his mentor and friend.

There will be a viewing Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A Christian Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, 2019, at 9:30am, at Holy Spirit Church in Central Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
