Elvira (Ojeda) Cabrera, 83, passed on September 23rd with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Orlando Cabrera. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, a daughter of the late Pedro Ojeda and Ana Castañeda.
Elvira Cabrera was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always had a smile on her face and loved laughing and making jokes. Her favorite pastime was dancing, as she loved salsa and making up her own moves to her favorite songs. She was full of wisdom and loved to give great advice to those closest to her. Most notably, she was a feminist at heart, always encouraging her granddaughters to be strong, independent women. She will be missed deeply by her friends and family. She had been employed by Sew-Biz Industries for many years. Elvira is survived by three children, Elizabeth Cabrera, Orlando Cabrera Jr., and Daniel Cabrera; A sister, Elvia Rojas, a brother, Hugo Ojeda, seven grandchildren, Orlando, Hillary, Danny, Cindy, Melissa, Wendy Cabrera, Leonardo Suarez, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, September 25th at 8:15 am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St., Central Falls, at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6pm until 9pm.
