Manuel A. Fortes, "Ti Nice" 66, passed on October 27th surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Angelina (Rodrigues) Fortes.
Born in Santo Antao, Cape Verde, he was a son of the late Antonio Pedro Fortes and Maria Luisa.
Manuel had been employed as a painter by the Providence Housing Authority for several years and was an active member and was instrumental in the building advancement of the Ambassadors Church of the Nazarene. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Patricia Maria Silva, her husband Joao Silva, Carmelita Maria Fortes, Valter Manuel Fortes, his wife Samantha Delgado, Helder Pires, Sandra Pires and John Pires, and ten grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. He was the father of the late Edy Fortes. Manuel will be dearly missed by his family and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours that will be held Tuesday, October 29th from 5pm until 8pm in Ambassadors Church of the Nazarene, 194 Barton Street, Pawtucket. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 30th at 10am at Ambassadors Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
