Born in Dorchester, MA, a daughter of the late Edward Handy and Edith (Cummings)
Valencourt.
She had been employed for over 25 years by the Wrentham State Developmental Center before retiring. She was a dedicated member of the Animal Humane Society.
She is survived by 2 sons, Thomas Paquette and his wife Claire of Cumberland and Edward Dyson Jr. of Pawtucket, 2 daughters, Mary Dyson Burt and her husband Keith of Cumberland and Deborah Dyson of Woonsocket , 3 brothers, Edward Handy Sr. of Georgia, Eugene Handy of MA and Henry Valencourt of Woonsocket, a daughter in law, Sherri Dyson, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was the mother of the late Fredrick Paquette and sister of the late Edna Lambert, Evelyn Randle, Fredrick Handy and Frank Valencourt.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 10am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in St James Cemetery, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Animal Human Society.
