Roland J. Duffany, 93, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 6, 2019. He was the husband of the late Ruth L. (Vanslett) Duffany. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Joseph and Alberta M. (Chapdelaine) Duffany.
Roland was a lifelong resident of Central Falls before moving to Pawtucket. He was employed at Major Electric for 20 years and Paramount Cards before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the United States Army and served his country in WWII, where he obtained the rank of Staff Sargent and was awarded the Purple Heart, WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and EAME Campaign Medal.
He is survived by a son, Roland Valliere; a daughter, Bonnie Jean Fort; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Patricia Belanger, Noella Morrissette, Albert Duffany, Normand Duffany, George Duffany, and Harvey Duffany Sr.
