Keith S. Mathews of East Providence, RI, was called home to be with the lord on February 5, 2020. Keith was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend and mentor to many.
He loved his family dearly and was very proud of the accomplishments of his children. He is survived by beloved wife Maria Mathews; daughter Keira Alves and son Antonio O. Mathews. He also leaves behind a sister Janet Sinclair of Boston, Mass, brother Kevin and his wife Maryann Mathews of East Providence, uncle Brian Douglass Clarke, step-mother Marilyn Gunn Mathews and his mother's loving companion Kenneth Gross. He is the son of the deceased Owen S. Mathews Jr. of East Providence and the Late Patricia A. Mathews of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. Keith also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other loved ones who are completely devastated in his sudden passing.
Keith is a "Native-New Englander" born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in East Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated from Boston College - Carroll School of Management (C.S.O.M.) in 1980 and completed Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management's – Advanced Executive Program in 2003. He became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in 1978. He has over thirty years of Corporate Marketing and Sales Management and Communications companies such as New England Telephone, A.T. & T. Information Systems, Susquehanna Broadcasting, and The Providence Journal Co. and most recently Area Director of East Side Living Magazine.
Keith was deeply rooted in his community and felt very strongly about creating an opportunity for others to thrive and achieve such as was afforded for him. He served on various boards such as Boston College Alumni Board of Directors and Alumni Development Executive Committee; Paul Cuffee Charter School in Providence; The Sailing Institute - Board of Directors; the Sigma Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; Mount Hope Community Baptist Church Board of Trustees, in Providence, RI; Miriam Hospital Foundation (Lifespan) Board of Governors; Worldwide Marketing Leadership Panel.

His Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Keefe Funeral home located at Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI 02865. Calling hours will be between 9am – 12pm. There will be a Service immediately following. Committal will be at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, RI.
