Orlando De Jesus Almeida Gomes, 60, of Central Falls, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 9, 2020. He was the husband of Rita Gomes. Born in Sao Tome, Africa he was a son of the late Joaquim and Ana (Almeida) Gomes. Orlando worked many years at Organic Dye & Pigment and was an avid fisherman.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Lena Gomes; two sisters, Maria Da Luz and husband Amilcar, Alexandra Monteiro; six nieces and nephews, Helder Andrade, Gabriela Gomes, Dora Gomes, Heatherlee Delgado, Khadyjia Delgado, Shai Delgado; and many great nieces and great nephews.
His funeral will begin at 8:45a.m. on Friday, March 13th at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. in Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 99 Camp St., Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 12th from 5:00 - 8:00p.m. at Keefe Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited.
