Maria Zinha Centeio, 109, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 12, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Luis Resende. Born in Fogo Island, Cape Verde she was a daughter of the late Jose and Carlota (Fonseca) Centeio. Maria Centeio dedicated her life to her family and was the Matriarch for many years. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Carlos Resende Sr., Ana Barros, Jose Resende, Luisa Resende, Fernando Resende, Francisco Resende, Zulmira Resende; a sister, Maria Centeio; 27 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
