Manuel de los Reyes Contreras passed away on May 21, 2020 at the age of 96. He was born on January 6, 1924 in Tolu, Colombia. He immigrated to Central Falls, RI with his late wife, Maria de los Angeles Contreras Tamayo, on December 9, 1972. Manuel worked at Joseph Mill as a machine operator, from 1972 - 1981, and at Hasbro, INC in the same profession from 1981 until his retirement in 1989.
He is survived by his children Julio Castillo and his wife Evelia of Central Falls, Reyes Segundo Contreras and his wife Marlén of Pawtucket, Dora Charris and her husband Jorge of Lincoln, Miguel Contreras and his wife Ruby of Pawtucket, Pedro Contreras and his wife Beatriz of Orlando, FL, Fredy Contreras and his wife Petrona of Pawtucket, Marta Garcia and her husband Hector of North Providence, 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Manuel was also the loving father of the late Orlando Contreras. Manuel will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. His legacy will live on through all his children, grandchildren and all who were fortunate to know him
His funeral will be private, however we invite all to share in his memory.
