died October 26, 2010 at the Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Clarice T. Bloomer for 60 years. Born in Central Falls on December 13, 1930, he lived most of his life in Lincoln. He was the son of the late William and Alice Bloomer. Cliff attended Central Falls High School, played football there and graduated in 1949. He then joined the Navy during the Korean War. He worked in the wire business most of his life retiring from Boston Insulated Wire in 1995. He was a member of the E.L. Freeman Masonic Lodge and was a past patron of the Electa Chapter of the Eastern Star. Cliff also sang in the choir of Christ Church, Lonsdale for 20 years and was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church when he passed. He played cribbage all over the State of RI and organized the cribbage card night at the Washington Hills Apartments.
Besides his loving wife he leaves 3 daughters, Nancy and her husband Bill Nixon of Woonsocket, Jane and her husband Ronald Letourneau of Woodstock, CT, Carol Bloomer Quinn of Harrisville and close friends of the family Maureen Distler & her son of Mount Pleasant, SC, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Emma Martel of CT and Dorothy Lawrence of FL, and a brother, Enoch of Coventry and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Alice Procter and William Bloomer.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Mendon Rd, Cumberland at 10am followed by burial with Military Honors in the RI Veteran's Cemetery in Exeter.
Relatives and friends are invited, Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.
