Esmeralda Melo, 80, passed on August 6th. She was the wife of the late Anibal Melo. Born in Ribeirinha, Sao Miguel, Azores, a daughter of the late Antonio and Gloria (Martins) Botelho. She immigrated to the United Sates in 1972.
She had been employed by Healthtex for many years and then retired from International Packaging. Esmerelda was a member of the Holy Spirit Society at St. Anthony Church where she was also a choir member for the past 45 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Paula Cordeiro, her husband Ricky, a granddaughter, Anibella Cordeiro, her siblings, Guiomar Martins, Bernadette Estrela, Jose Botelho and Antonio Botelho.
She was the grandmother of the late Gloria Cordeiro and sister of the late Carlos Botelho.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 12 at 10am in St. Anthony Church, Lawn Ave, Pawtucket. Burial will be private due to Covid 19. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday from 6pm until 8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.
