Gerard Benoit ("Pep", "Uncle G", "Gej"), 86 passed away on Oct 17th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Antoinette (Boucher) and Andrew Benoit.
Born and raised in Central Falls, He worked at Texas Instruments as a slitter for 33yrs. He
served proudly in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin.
He is survived by 5 children, his son, Leo Benoit and his wife, Judy, his daughters, Deborah
Jackson and her husband, Archie, Monica Benoit, K. Lee Brown and Valerie Benoit. He was the
loving Pepere of 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was one of six siblings. He leaves behind his sisters, Janet Tormey, Violette LeMay, and
Constance Bessette.
He was predeceased by his brother, Edouard Benoit, his sister, Elaine Darbyshire and 4 great
grandchildren.
Gerard loved his entire extended family which included, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great
Nephews, Great-great Nieces, Great-great Nephews, special friends and family members. If you asked them they would tell you that he was much more than that. He was a father/grandfather figure to so many. He had enough love in his heart for all who came into his presence.
He loved family celebrations and never missed one and always enjoyed a great meal, especially if it had seafood in it.
He was an avid golfer and loved his annual golf trips with friends. He also loved watching it on TV, especially if Tiger Woods was playing, He was also a die-hard fan for his New England Patriots.
He had a witty sense of humor, secret handshakes, his own language, and tons of funny
sayings. He loved going on family vacations and watching football at his niece and nephew’s
house every Sunday. He loved his Coffee nights, his nightly phone calls with his sisters and
calling Valerie multiple times a day. He loved his gadgets, If it was seen on TV he owned it. He was truly the ultimate Gadget Guy.
He meant so much to so many and we were so blessed to have him in our lives. He will be
forever missed.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 22nd from 4pm until 7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.
Burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Leukemia Society in honor of his great nephew Ricky Oldrid and wearing Patriot's attire to this service.
