Otis E. DeCosta, 60, passed away peacefully Wednesday December 9, 2020 at Hope Health Hospice after a brief illness. He was the loving son of Lorraine M. DeCosta and Otis Bliss, and stepmother MaryJane all of Providence.
Born in Providence he grew up in Manton Heights and attend Saint Teresa School and Our Lady of Providence before joining the Army National Guards. Otis also worked at Dome Publishing Company in Warwick RI for many years as the shipper/receiver. He was a member of the Northern Narragansett Indian Tribe with a tribal name of “Lone Wolfâ€. Otis was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins football team. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Watergate Lounge Bowling League for years, but his greatest love was singing his favorite songs by Prince and Michael Jackson during Karaoke or anywhere someone would listen to him
Besides his parents, he is survived by his siblings Valerie Champlin (South Kingston) Dorene Smith Hartford Ct) Ann Marie DeCosta (Providence) Janine Bliss (Pawtucket) Monique DeCosta-Ellis (Providence) Deborah Curt (Pawtucket) Jason Curt (Providence) Joseph and Otis Stanton of Providence. He was preceded in death by his sisters Courtney Reels and Blanche Bliss and niece Naomi DeCosta. He also leaves behind his caring nephew and niece Jermaine and Joy Robinson and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
