65, of Illinois St, passed away on November 25, 2010. He was the husband of Benvinda (Rocha) Fontes. They have been married for 31 years.
Born in Island of Fogo, Cape Verde, a son of the late Lim and Agostinha V. Fontes.
He had been employed over 20 years by American Insulated Wire before retiring in 2007.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Manuel Fontes, a daughter, Michell Fontes, a grandson, Jose Gabriel Fontes, all of Central Falls.
Three brothers, Pedro, Aderito and Octavio Fontes, three sisters, Catarina "Emilyn" Fontes, Amalia "Niquinha" Rodrigues and Liliana Fontes Lopes and many nieces.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, High St, Pawtucket at 9:30am. Relatives and friends are invited, calling hours will be held Tuesday 5-8pm. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
