Maria G Lopes, 80, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island was called to heaven on January 19, 2021 at Miriam Hospital in Providence RI. Mrs. Lopes was born in Brava, Cape Verde. She was the daughter of the late Manuel Garcia and the late Adelina Gomes. She came to the United States in 1979 settling in Brockton, Mass before moving to RI in 1985.
She was the beloved wife of Hilaro Lopes and devoted mother to John Lopes and his wife Elmira Lopes of Berkley Mass, Maria Alves and her husband John Alves, Dulce Gomes, Manny Lopes, Maria Teixeira( Fati) all from Pawtucket RI, and the late Dorothy Bakare Lopes.
Besides her husband and children she is survived by her siblings Autilia Collazo(Titi), Laurinda Monteiro(Lufuca), Matilda Fortes(Tilinha), Napoleon Soares(Pulan), Phoebe James and Connie Sousa(Tata), all from Massachusetts and her late sister Benilda Andrade. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Joey, Dennis, Jason, Steven, Briana, Deven, Mikey, Jailyn, Aneesa, Jarell, Jonathan, Madison, Arianna, Aliyah, Amaya and 10 great-grandchildren whom she loved and adored.
