June M. Corriveau (McDermott) passed away unexpectedly on February 2nd, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Mike Corriveau for over 50 years and they were childhood sweethearts from the age of 13. She was the daughter of the late Edward McDermott and the late Evelyn (Frates) McDermott.
She was born in Pawtucket and resided in Rumford for the past 37 years. June took great joy in being a private nanny and housekeeper for the same loving family for 40 years.
June enjoyed being a member of a bowling league and hosted many years of card games on Friday nights with her husband and many friends. She was a natural photographer of nature, especially birds. She was actively involved with an online bird watching group.
Most recently over the past few years she enjoyed riding on the back of her husband’s Harley Davidson and taking long rides on their motorcycle along side her niece and nephew, Roxanne and Wayne Tremblay, in which they frequently went to Iggy’s for dinner together and spent more time together than apart. She loved her daily phone calls from her niece Lori that always made her laugh.
Besides her husband Mike she leaves behind three sisters, Judy Jesuino, Frances Antone and Patricia McDermott, and one brother, Leo McDermott. She was predeceased by brothers, Edward and Robert McDermott and sisters, Nancy Costa, Beverly Whalen and Daisy Dos Santos. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and her beloved dogs, Scooter and Rocky. June was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed by all but never forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Saturday, February 6th in St. Mary Church, Pine St., Pawtucket. Burial will be private in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the RISPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915.
