Jorge "Djoco" Ilidio Vieira, age 64, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island passed on February 4th, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brava, Cabo Verde, son of the late Ilidio F. Vieira and Aldevina E. Vieira. As a young man, Djoco dreamed of becoming an architect before relocating to the United States. Jorge was an active member of the Cape Verdean community in Pawtucket for over 30 years. Djoco enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid soccer fan. He never lost his love for his beloved Cabo Verde, and continued to fill his home with the familiar sounds of morna.
He is survived by his three children, Jorge Jr., Kimberly and Kendra and their mother Manuela Vieira. Along with his eleven siblings and many loving nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his selflessness and constant consideration of others. Djoco truly represented the morabeza that is Cabo Verde.
