On Tuesday, February 9th, 2021, our caring and loving mother, Ecilda Goncalves, left this world for a better one to be with the Lord at age 88.
She was born in Brava, Cape Verde, and was the daughter of the late Jose Gonçalves and Zulmira Correia Gonçalves. She was also the sister of the late Carlota Gonçalves and Lucilia DePina. Ecilda leaves two children whom she adored, loved, and worked tirelessly to raise: José António Debarros and Arlete G. Tavares and a son-in-law João José Tavares. She leaves behind a legacy of five grandchildren: Jonathan, Kim, Marlene, Joshua and Nathan; and three beautiful great-grandchildren: Madison, Olivia and Caleb.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Arnaldo Lopes, Zulmira Lopes, Arilda Lopes, Eurico Lopes, David Lopes and Graça Gonçalves.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 16th at 10am in St. Anthony’s Church located on Lawn ave, Pawtucket. Visitation will be Monday, February 15th, from 4-7, groups of less than 15 at a time in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.
