78, of Lincoln Ave, died Thursday, December 3, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Jose Soares and Ihner (Neuby) Soares. He lived most of his life with his wife Ostina (Isom) Soares to whom he was married to for 58 years.
Jack retired in 1994 from the Providence Housing Authority. Prior to joining the housing authority; he was a professional scout with the Boys Scouts of America. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Deartra V. Soares of Providence, 3 sons; Stephan B. Isom of Atlanta, Leroy (Tommy) Isom of Providence and Austin H. Soares of Hartford, 3 sisters, Mary Stirrup, Anna Gomes, and Patricia Soares, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He was the brother of the late Benjamin Rose, Manuel Rose, Antone (Toi) Soares, Frances Soares, Ruth Diaz, Edith Smalls, Margaret Soares, Rose Fortes, Manuel Soares, Coralena Williams, Ina Lopes, and Dorothy Rose. He was the grandfather of the late Adrian A. Soares.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, off Smithfield Ave, Lincoln. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter at the convenience of the family.
