Joaquim R. Mancebo, 85, passed peacefully on March 17, 2021. Born in Terceira, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose Rocha Mancebo and Francisca Ormonde Mancebo, and brother of the late Jose Carlos Mancebo & wife, Otilia, Arnaldo Mancebo, and Luis Mancebo. Prior to moving to the United States in 1980, Joaquim was a hospital administrator in Lisbon, Portugal and enjoyed public speaking at community events. He was an avid collector of Portuguese artifacts, such as historical books and music, including over 1000 vinyl records!

He is survived by his devoted and loving sister, Conceicao “Connie” (Mancebo) Barcelos and late husband, Manuel. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Odilia Mancebo and Vanda Mancebo from Brazil; nieces and nephews in Rhode Island - Suzy Barcelos Winchester and late husband, Michael E. Winchester; Manuela Barcelos & son, Julian; Maria Mancebo Coltey and husband, Greg Coltey & sons, Max & Owen; Joseph Mancebo; and in Brazil - Jose Augusto & Ana Lucia Mancebo; Elizabeth & Luis Henrique Mancebo and families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 10:00am at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St, North Providence. Private burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
