Roberto Oviedo Calzada was born in 1933 in Mexico, to parents Marcelina and Portfirio Calzada. Mr. Calzada peacefully passed away on May 3, 2021 surrounded by his family. Mr. Calzada pastored Church of God Peniel in Pawtucket Rhode Island for twenty years. As a pastor, he passionately served his church and community without ever asking for anything in return. In 2016, after being hospitalized for nearly three weeks due to a stroke, he suited up the next day to preach of the Lord’s goodness at the church he pastored. Mr. Calzada loved to sing, read, travel and spend time with his family. He was a kid at heart with an infectious laughter and great sense of humor. Mr. Calzada is survived by 9 children and 17 grandchildren and 12 great grand children.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 8am until 11:30am with a service at 11:30am at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln Rhode Rhode Island. Burial will be in North Burial ground in Providence, Rhode Island.
